Jeez! Just tried it with Alan Moore (of course) and was amazed when his picture came up! There must be loads of people who match the description i gave.

I've tried it with a number of people and it's got them all. Amusingly when it correctly guessed Karl Pilkington it listed his name as 'Karl Pilkington (Bald Manc)'  Cheesy

Beating this thing could become addictive... he he.

Any good new idea will seem bad to most people; otherwise somebody would already be doing it.

Yeah, I like it a lot too and I'm spreading the word. My first go, I tried Ian McCulloch and it didn't get it. But most times it does, and it keeps surprising me. And I keep surprising myself with what I know and what I don't know! Thanks, cryptic.

The fucker's been able to guess most of what I throw at him! It must be designed around a search engine maybe; and it learns, too! Note the number stating how many times that person you chose has been selected so far. I've read people claiming it installs malware that search your computer/media player/browser, but my (perfectly legitimate, thank you very much!) antivirus programme hasn't picked anything.

Also, people can add characters/persons, along with further descriptions and photos to existing people, which explains the 'Bald Manc' title. LOL! This must be the main way it can learn from its errors.

I have to admit it wasn't able to detect Alan Moore for me; early on it asked me something relevant to music, to which I answered affirmatively, and it kind of lost it from then. If it doesn't get it within the first 20, chances are good it won't at all. I am curious as to how it correctly guessed both Liane Cartman and PZ Myers within 20 questions though!

Things it guessed in 20 questions:
Michael Chabon
Billy Pilgrim (from Slaughterhouse-Five)
The Jolly Green Giant
Moby
Kurt Vonnegut

Things it guessed in more than 20 questions:
Wayne Coyne

Things it didn't guess:
Chamber (Generation X character)

I also did Neil Gaiman, although I figured it would have no problem with that.  From its questions I knew it had narrowed down the possible answers to a British comic book writer, and it's next question was, "Does your character have a long beard?" obviously to test if my answer is Alan Moore.  The next question was, "Is your character bald?" probably to eliminate Grant Morrison.  After I answered no to both, it guessed Gaiman.

This game is getting creepy.  Every time I think of someone that I'm certain the computer cannot guess, it gets it in 20 questions.  The computer even figured out Thomas Pynchon, which is surprising because I can fit the things I know about him on an index card.  Maybe it was all the "I don't know"s that gave it away.

Just the thing I needed: The Matt Berry relaxation podcast.

Maybe it can be found here, but I couldn't get much from that site.
